“A Swing for Life" Golf Academy is located on the premises of Scott Greens Golf Club. The academy is celebrating its 27th year of offering high level golf instruction to many ADULT, COLLEGE, HIGH SCHOOL, and JUNIOR level players in the NEPA area.

Clinics are offered periodically throughout the season for beginner women and young juniors. As well as short game clinics for novice players. We also have instructors working under Scotty's directed.

The ASFL program is developed and taught by instructor Scotty McAlarney, 5-time TOP 100 W.G.T.F. Instructor and member of the International PGA. This program has graduated many of the finest junior and adult players in our area, with some of our students moving on to their own careers in the golf industry, including right here at our ASFL Golf Academy.

Since 1996, our academy has achieved over 125 tournament wins and counting, among our former and present junior, high school, college, mid-amateur, and senior students. Over 60 - 1st & 2nd team All-Stars and All-Regional status.

In 2020, we had 6 junior students playing in the PIAA State Championship - 2 earning gold medals and 1 silver medal. In addition, there are presently 9 PGA or other affiliate teaching professionals that have come through our academy.

A Swing for Life Golf Academy has given thousands of dollars to our scholarship fund to award scholarships every year to a few full-time academy students moving on to college.

 

Scotty serves as Director of Golf for Scott Greens Golf Club as well as for the Golf Academy. Numerous articles have been published on his teaching style and system – a system which Scotty and his instructors implement on a daily basis.

Scotty’s holds a masters level certification on the “mental approach” to golf which combined with his vast knowledge of “healthy” teaching methods gives the academy and its students “a swing for life."

 

 

​ACADEMY MEMBERSHIP - Please contact Scotty McAlarney, Director of Golf for more information on cost, age requirements, benefits, and dates available. Academy students receive one-on-one instruction geared toward serious junior and adult golfers, as well as for beginners to the game. Students will receive instruction from instructors on staff that will best fit his or her level.
