“A SWING FOR LIFE” has been developed and taught
by CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL GOLF INSTRUCTOR
SCOTT MCALARNEY for fourteen years.
Scott gives private instructions to many of
the area's premier junior and adult amateur players.
He also serves as the Head Golf Coach for
the Mid Valley Spartan High School golf team
where he was the Scranton Times & Lackawanna League
Coach of the Year 2000.
He is the former National Director of the “World Junior Golf Series”,
a certified teaching member of N.A.G.C.E. -
“National Association of Golf Coaches/Educators”
and a Teaching Professional for the U.S.G.T.F -
“United States Golf Teachers Federation”.
Scotty serves as DIRECTOR of GOLF at Scott Greens Golf Club.
Last year alone, Scott gave just over 500 personal lessons –
not including his two week instruction at the Northeast Golf School
where he serves as Short Game Lead Instructor.
He also serves as Program Director for the
Lackawanna County Golf Clinics
which are held at Scott Greens Golf Club.
Through his continuing education process in the golf teaching industry,
Scott has studied the “mental approach” to golf
written and taught by Dr Greg Steinberg,
along with other golf psychology programs and methods.
Scott - who was self-taught when playing as an amateur –
credits Ben Hogan, Homer Kelley and Jim McLean
as some of his early influences on the golf swing.
Some of Scott’s former students have now gone on to become
teaching instructors or head professionals around the United States.
Scott says, “ I have put together a system with my son Corey’s influences that will help you to never have to change your golf swing
throughout your life time of playing golf – which will lead to improved swing consistency, lower scores,
and a life time of fun on the course!
